Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking

Chris' work draws inspiration from the exploration of the duality within ourselves that is caused by the struggles and relationships we encounter with those whom influence us. His work creates a comprehensive, accessible, and relatable link between the viewer's own personal experiences, their emotional responses to the world around them and the experience he or she is having with his work. Chris' work facilitates a reflection on how we are influenced by outside sources and how those influences affect who we are and how we influence and affect those around us.

Fiber, Jewelry

My art focuses on nature art both in pine needle art and jewelry.  Many of the stones used in both the baskets and jewelry are found by me in my rock hunting and include lapidary work and polishing the stones.  The jewelry often features nature such as my hummingbird necklaces, created to resemble the actual birds in color and size.  Much of the jewelry is either bead weaving or includes beads either made by me or gemstones.  Some of my recent bracelet creations include using beads as Morse Code.  My pine needle art includes baskets of various sizes as well as wall art using pine needles as the base.  The pine needle art often includes such nature elements as walnut or hickory slices, acorns or seed pods.

The fiber art and jewelry for sale at the festival are based on nature, incorporating natural elements and featuring birds or other animals.  The pine needle baskets are woven in colors that complement the semi-precious stone woven into the base.  The images of birds or other animals in each piece are designed to resemble the actual animals as closely as possible. The fiber arts include baskets and pictures made from pine needles, as well as knitted and crocheted nature-themed shawls.  The jewelry features semi-precious stones, bead weaving, wire wrapping, and various recycled materials.  Many pieces include elements I have treated from start to finish, from the stones that I've collected and polished to items that I’ve recycled and incorporated.

My husband and I have been making tie-dye for 6 years. We started small, making shirts for my third-grade class and have since expanded to making a variety of adult clothing, such as dresses, polos, t-shirts, and other accessories. We also make a variety of youth clothing, including dresses, pajamas, and t-shirts. We use two different dying methods, including an iced-based method, which give us a huge variety in color and design. Adult items include several styles of dresses, men's polo shirts, unisex T-shirts, V-necks, hoodies, and long sleeve shirts. Our youth items include T-shirts, pajamas, onesies, and dresses. Our sizes include small through 4X in most adult styles and our youth clothing includes sizes 3 months through approximately age 12. We strive to make wearable art that reflects a wide range of colors. Each piece is unique, and we are consistently experimenting with new tying patterns and color combinations.

Wood

I am an experienced woodworker who is inspired by seeing interesting and unique natural beauty in different types of wood. It is my opportunity to unleash the beauty of a particular piece of wood and make it into an item that others will want to cherish and pass onto family and friends. My pieces are designed to be passed down as multi-generational keepsakes  - however much they are touched and used. I carefully search for and utilize as much reclaimed and recycled wood into my creations as possible. No piece is ever perfect, and that is my challenge - to make each one-of-a-kind piece as beautiful, practical and perfect as I can possibly achieve.

Recycled Art, Sculpture, Wood

Inspired by the beauty of nature, each sculpture Nath creates begins as a natural piece of cactus wood or fiber she has found in the Chihuahuan or Sonoran deserts of Southwestern America. The artist designs her sculptures to absorb, illuminate and amplify light; she hand-forms, sculpts, and paints until both hard and soft cactus fibers have come together with a silky, luminous sheen. Nath's inspiration soars on the hot, dry winds soaring above the Sonoran desert where she lives; she invites you to bring her vibrant sculptures into your world.

Leather Handmade leather bags and belts

My original leatherwork is inspired by the deep Moorish influence in our Southwestern culture.  Our bags and belts are built with hand tools only, using the finest full-grain leathers and accented with unique handmade conchos and buckles.  Designed for convenience and comfort, each is a work of functional art designed for decades of everyday use.  I will be selling my original designs of handmade leather bags, belts and brass switch plates.  I begin each creation with a precise calibrated drawing, followed by making the patterns and finally a finished prototype.  The very labor-intensive laced construction and hardware accents are done by two assistants at my secondary workshop in Marrakech, Morocco. Then at my primary Tucson workshop, I complete the final construction, shaping, finishing, mounting of buckles and conchos and checking quality of every detail on every single item, assuring it meets my highest standard.

Glass Happens
Glass, Stained-Glass designs

We design and craft stained-glass creations using standard materials such as foil, leaded came, and zinc. In addition, we incorporate unexpected materials like cut stone, metal, and found objects. Our work ranges from the whimsical repurposing of bicycle wheels-as-color-frames to elegant art that can define a space or entryway. We love experimenting with endless combinations of light, texture, color, shape, and line to create both practical and purely decorative glass pieces suitable for every budget. From traditional stained glass to yard art to whimsical creations for all budgets.

Jorge Vasco performs live "music of the Andes.” His pan flute music is easy listening—a delight to the ears and the mind. Jorge also makes many types of flutes from bamboo and other wood. Lynn started designing her own line of natural cotton out of frustration with all the unflattering styles. Our unique designs "rock" for slender, curvy, and fuller figures. Our collection is timeless in style and ageless for the wearer. Machine wash, no iron. Great for travel—roll out and go!

Painting

My passion for art, color and life is expressed in my vibrant paintings, which are inspired by animals, nature, symbols and the mystical. My favorite mediums are watercolor, for the flow and translucency, and acrylic for the versatility and texture. My main desire in all my paintings  is to inspire creativity and touch the heart.

I photograph the night sky, mostly the Milky Way with unique foreground scenery. All photos are printed on metal (aluminum). I feature the night sky in the American Southwest—a series of long exposures taken at night in Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and California. Photographing the night sky is a passion I just can't get enough of and I have been photographing scenery of this kind since 2016. Being out at night (mostly by myself) is incredible—sometimes fun, cold, scary, exciting; always inspiring.

Sculpture and Metal Furniture

I forge and weld steel and metal found objects into sculpture. My style is organic and botanical; the found objects are recycled and repurposed into these sculptures, which often have an environmental theme. My pieces are all sizes, and all are one-of-a-kind creations that are hand-forged and/or welded together in my distinct style. This style uses hard materials to find the essence of soft life forms, both botanical and animal, and especially those that live in the desert.
